Washington State is a picturesque destination for scenic train rides, especially during the fall. The vibrant colors of autumn foliage provide a stunning backdrop, and several Halloween-themed excursions make for a memorable experience.
One popular option is the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad, offering a journey through the dense forests and foothills of the Cascade Mountains. During the fall, the train hosts the "The Great Pumpkin Patch Express" where Snoopy meets the kids.
The Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie offers the "Halloween Train," a unique journey where visitors can learn about the region's rail history while partaking in Halloween fun. The ride features decorated coaches, costume contests, and delicious fall snacks. Travelers will also enjoy breathtaking views of the Snoqualmie Falls and surrounding autumn scenery.

Chehalis-Centralia Railroad & Museum: The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad & Museum located in Chehalis, Washington operates on former Milwaukee Road property in the Chehalis Valley.
Aside from displays they also host excursions and one of their specials is the "Pumpkin Train" where the kids can ride behind their operating steam locomotive to pick out a pumpkin.
Chelatchie Prairie Railroad: The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad, located in Yacolt, operates on former logging trackage between Chelatchie Prairie and Lucia Falls. The railroad's season runs from spring through fall and one of their specials is the "Headless Horseman Halloween Train" hosted during October.
Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad: The Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad is tourist railroad based out of Elbe, Washington and operates numerous steam locomotives taking you on either an 18 or 30-mile round trip from the restored depot in Mineral.
"The Great Pumpkin Patch Express" lets kids pick out their favorite pumpkin while enjoying the day with the Peanuts gang (Snoopy and friends).

Kitsap Haunted Fairgrounds, Bremerton: While the Kitsap Haunted Fairgrounds offers more intense scares in the evenings, during daylight hours they host lights-on tours that are perfect for families with younger children.
