Spooky Rails: Indiana's Haunted Train Adventures!

In Indiana, there is currently only one location hosting Halloween-themed train rides for the entire family, the Whitewater Valley Railroad located in Connersville. These popular trips are part of several holiday-themed events the organization hosts throughout the year. More information about the railroad may be found further below.

The Children's Museum Guild's Haunted House

Whitewater Valley Railroad

The 19-mile Whitewater valley Railroad connects Metamora and uses one of several diesel locomotives on the property to power their trains.  The railroad hosts a number of special events throughout the year such as the Polar Express, Easter Bunny Express, and the Santa Claus Limited.

Two offered for Halloween include the "Pumpkinliner" (where the kids to ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out their favorite for carving) and the "Ghost Train of Metamora."  The latter is a family-friendly event that includes a half-hour train ride as well as a ghost story during the trip.  The railroad states these trips sell out quickly!
